I recently ran across this great application/website which allows you to create art from your music; more specifically create art from your music uploaded onto Soundcloud. Head over to Spectrogr.am and the example track will start playing and creating a visual similar to the ones you see below.  Add “/artist/track” to the end of the Spectrogr.am URL to start creating art from your own Soundcloud tracks (Like http://www.spectrogr.am/blakeandrew/awakening). Some are a little boring, some are quite interesting. You can also press “H” on your keyboard once a track is loaded for some different options and results. Below are a few of my favorites with the different options available.

We walk the streets in our minds everyday. Those streets fill the void in places we might not ever see. The atmosphere is rich, and the water is running all around us. There’s a distinct love in the air, so rich and absolute that it could easily make you blind. Then, there’s the sound to match, the one that got you to this place to begin with. This sunday I’m there, and I’m walking around amazing circles of antique hues, with buds from flowers that glow memories in the fold.

In the last few months I have come to know Allan Vizzuett out of Mexico City, Mexico. He has impressed me with his dedication to music, and his ability to express that passion by simply saying what he feels. He runs the music blog Matinée as Hell with a friend, and the new netlabel BadPop.

This evening, my dogs are sleeping in their beds, Holly is prepping our feast(her turn), and I’m writing about Allan, and his first song “Lifechild” under the thought provoking moniker notyou, may.

Well done Friend. Your first song is a breathtaker.

With Skates by Mountain Range

180439 169804193067572 157719217609403 351438 4341290 n Mountain Range These depths circulate the whole world. A mountain Range only appears as big as you can perceive its glory. These are just random thought I’m having while getting lost in “With Skates.” On soundcloud there are tons of wonderful bands just waiting to be plucked from the bedroom, and spaces where they create. I stumbled onto Mountain Range, and the wonderful track produced by Stuart Thomas. The sound is absolute bliss, and its really hard not to talk with such lofty dispositions while listening to it. This is the kind of music that makes life flash before your eyes, or the kind that extends something small and wonderful. If you have some time, give them a longer listen. They have some really great music on soundcloud. I know I’m hooked, and will continue to celebrate their magic.

If you’re lucky enough like I was, you’ll find little gems through the bushels of wire and tricks in the vast world of musical production. I stumbled across Tea Leigh out of Boston, and right away I was struck with how wonderful this sound felt. It came at a perfect time, looking for something subtle to get me away from it all. The night comes and fire burns with this wonderful music.
