jamesmurphy 110 Next LCD Soundsystem May Be The LastJames Murphy (LCD Soundsystem, DFA Records) has hinted in a recent article with NME that the next LCD Soundsystem album, tentatively due out April 2010, may be the last. He has remains rather coy regarding the issue, but it seems he’s in need of a change. Murphy will no doubt continue music under a new moniker or possible with a new band. Murphy has been quoted saying the follow up to the 2007 album Sound Of Silver Next LCD Soundsystem May Be The Last, is “definitely better than the other two.”

Has Murphy decided to make a career move similar to other music heavy weights such as Eminem, Garth Brooks, Jay Z, Ja Rule? Claiming a resignation from music only to return, after phenomenal ‘last’ album sales and maybe a “best of” series. Or is he headed down the path of Trent Reznor, vowing to stop touring and more than likely continue music but under a new name with no preconceptions? My best guess leans toward the latter. Either way, the yet to be titled new release from LCD Soundsystem is already making it’s way to the lists of ‘Albums to be Heard in 2010′ and if his claims are correct, it should be a great way to say farewell.

Today is a great day! The functionality may have been up for a few days or more, but I’ve just noticed today. You can FINALLY add MP3 album’s and tracks to your wishlists on Amazon. I use the wishlist technology on Amazon extensively and have been hounding customer support as to why it was not available for MP3 for months… maybe a year. They’ve finally listened (I’m convinced it happened solely from this avid supporters nagging and ongoing anti-itunes campaign… I’m sure). Either way, it’s here. Now, how long will it take until my album art / digipak whining catches the ears of a programming philanthropist? Hhhhmmmmm….

I’ve recently taken a temporary hiatus from scoring the Internet for new music, upcoming bands, free downloads, etc. to concentrate on getting my upcoming music projects off the ground. Not to say I won’t be posting. I will. The posts will more than likely gravitate more towards technology and software and progress in the studio. And, of coarse, you know I can’t help but post relevant info on the bands and music that influence me the most, I just may not have the opportunity to share all the newest music out there… cuase I might not find it if I’m not looking. I believe it’s a necessary step towards future progress and believe up coming posts will reflect quality content that I will be exposed to.

On another, somewhat related note… I’ll be updating from Lollapalooza 2009 this weekend. Mostly from twitter, but may reflect deeper in posts. I’m excited.
