Stream the new album The Traveller from one of techno’s most challenging and distinguishing producers, Shed. Due to be released on August 30 by Ostgut Ton, The Traveller is the follow-up to Shed’s hugely acclaimed 2008 debut, Shedding The Past.

Even with the band taking a break, they still have material from their previous recording sessions on  Chemical Chords to share. Not Music hits the world November 16th, which includes a remix by Atlas Sound. Also, Stereolab frontwoman Laetitia Sadier is prepping her first solo release called The Trip, which will be released September 21 on Drag City.

Panda Bear (a.k.a. Noah Lennox) from Animal Collective has his new solo release out tomorrow in the form of a 7″ single limited edition vinyl. The 7″, a precursor to the full length album Tomboy, includes the title track ‘Tomboy’ and the B-side includes ‘Slow Motion.’ You can hear the tracks before you order at the Hype Machine. ‘Tomboy’ here, and ‘Slow Motion’ here.

Wavves has a new album entitled, King of the Beach. The new album includes Wavves frontman, Nathan Williams, and a new backing band, formally Jay Reatard’s ex-band. You can get King of the Beach on iTunes today, with the physical release on August 3. Meanwhile Stream the entire album for free now.

This new effort from Wavves definitely has a more polished sound, which Nathan has been gradually moving towards since Wavves inception. On one hand the clarity in music is welcomed, on the other… much of the fun, raw distortion and antics that drew me to his music has been sucked out, the bedroom being replaced by the studio… hopefully the soul of the music will not be replaced as well.

School of Seven Bells will release a new album, Disconnect From Desire, on July 13th 2010. Their sophomore album, a follow up to their debut Alpinisms, will be released under Ghostly International here in the US. The first single, ‘Windstorm‘ is available now as a release with a remix from A Place To Bury Strangers and a second track ‘Crescent Gold’.

Here We Go Magic recording the upcoming June 8th release, called Pigeons. The record was recorded, with the five members sharing a rented house and barn along the East Branch of the Delaware River  in upstate New York.

Trent Reznor has stayed true to his retirement of Nine Inch Nails and began working on a new project with his wife Mariqueen Maandig, from West Indian Girl. In brilliant Reznor fashion, he’s developed a catchy name which is easily formed into an acronym and correlating iconic logo (sound familiar?). It’s called How to Destroy Angels and just like all recent Reznor works, you can download their 6-track debut EP for free. For $2, you can upgrade to the HD package, which adds options for lossless audio (24-bit 44.1kHz WAV and 16-bit FLAC and Apple Lossless) and the music video for “The Space in Between” in 1080p and 480p. You can also get an immediate download after purchasing any merchandise from the band’s website, official T-shirts, posters and stickers. Listen up kids – that’s how you do it without a record label.

The music’s production is reminiscent of the Nine Inch Nails album With Teeth (with a touch of Year Zero beats). Which was Reznor’s return to the music industry and touring as well as a ‘back to basics’ recording style not seen on his previous two records. Mariqueen’s on main vocals with Trent backing and a mirage of synths, guitar effects, dirty beats and what sounds like mostly Trent’s words: upon first listen it reminded me of the short lived 12 Rounds, which released an album in ’98 on Reznor’s now defunct Nothing label. It’s great to see such a talent as Reznor back in the studio giving his grotesquely loyal and obsessive fans something to chat about online.
