FREE DOWNLOAD – “Voices”, the first single from the album Awakening (due in April 2012): A pounding kick and effected rhythmic samples that constantly change throughout the course of the song. Vocal samples and layered organic drums build to a peaceful yet dark interpretation of electronic music.

Awakening will be first available via Bandcamp April 2012. Look for more tracks (and free downloads) on soundcloud and visit the electronic music producer‘s website for updates.

The album’s genres can be tough to pinpoint but Awakening definitely has a dark, electro-techno-industrial sound. The tracks wouldn’t be considered ‘dance floor anthems’ by any means, though most of the tracks have deep, pounding beats with undeniable techno roots. Awakening also pans into stretches of ambient, hip hop and electronica.

“The creation of the album truly was an awakening for me. Not necessarily with the production of the music, but with myself, life and who I am really. I experienced some major changes from the pre to post production of the album and I think those changes are reflected in the music.“

Adam Stolz Live In Kona, Hawaii

Adam Stolz has been doing his thing for over a decade. And his new live mix from the Electronic Music Festival in Kona, Hawaii doesn’t disappoint. After listing to it twice this morning, its literally one of those “every track is dope” mixes. A constant hook, with continual hard not to dance to bass lines. I’ve know Adam for almost as long as he’s been at this, and like his new live Mix, he always brings the hot shit.

Adam is inches away from releasing more new tracks, and celebrating the opening of a brand new label called AUTEM in collaboration with a variety of super talents from around the world. Cheers!

” New Chicago based label, Autem Audio, is the brainchild collaboration of five friends: GVK, Sarp Yilmaz, DJ Da, Adam Stolz and Hearthug. Nomadic Firs "Tellico" is off the forthcoming full length record which is slated for late spring 2012. Recorded in the Tellico Village, a community in Tennessee. Tellico Village is a planned community on the western shore of Tellico Reservoir in Loudon County, Tennessee, United States, about 30 miles (48 km) southwest of Knoxville. The community has an area of about 5,000 acres. Tellico Village exists because of the actions of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), which decided to dam up the Little Tennessee River at its confluence with the Tennessee River. Tellico Dam was completed in November 1979 after a long battle, which famously involved the Endangered Species Act of 1973 and a small fish called the snail darter (see snail darter controversy). As part of the dam project, the TVA acquired additional land above the high water line of the reservoir (Tellico Lake), much of it taken by eminent domain. Part of this additional land was later sold to Cooper Communities, Inc., which established Tellico Village in 1986. Related posts:

The Tourist Trap, Sandwell Disctrict and Co. Night in Berlin

The only thing the Movement 2011 schedule or afterparty lineup is missing is a few appearances from the Sandwell District crew. If only this was an event happening in Detroit instead of Berlin I would have my wish (I would actually wish it to be on Sunday the 29th instead of Saturday the 28th as to not disrupt my already secured Saturday Movement afterparty plans.

For this intimate clubnight in Berlin Scorn will play a live set, Function will DJ a solo set and also join Regis for a Sandwell District set. Sandra Electronics will also be making an appearance which may or may not be a solo set from Regis (as it was originally a solo project for he) or he could be paired with a recent Sandra Electronics collaborator, Silent Servent (It Slipped Her Mind’ 10).

Possibly to give you an idea of what you may hear Sandwell District/Downwards have been kind enough to offer a Sandra Electronics, Live in Santa Barbara 2009 free download. A 3:37 sample where the artist(s) for the track are aptly named KARL AND THE CURBCRAWLERS.

Nomadic Firs free internet album on ReverbNation is available for download. Their first full length album will be coming out in the summer. This should hold you over until then. The free download comes with eight tracks that have been recorded over the last three years. The lead single is called Heady May, and it will be on this summers release. The album is being mastered by the father and son duo at Sonic Bloom recordings out of Michigan.
